I'm convinced this is a paint over. Although the image itself isn't mind blowing, I don't believe anyone can copy the marble texture this precisely, even with a grid.

It's reasonable for a similar texture to be painted to give the same impression, but every little spot and detail is exact.

This is where those practice sessions copying Vallejo could've come in useful.

Allowing painted pics and rendered pics to compete in the same competition is like putting 4k intros in with the tracked music competition.

That aside, it's an outstanding piece of work and Trenox is one of the best 3d artists I've seen competing in the scene.
