Lazur - Crossing (Comment by: Anarkhya 2010-07-19)
I would kill to know what Lazur had in mind when he slowly painted the L.A.Z.U.R forming his black signature on the piece. Pride? Guilt? Relief? We may never know...

All in all, I'm admiring the technical skill and amount of patience required to do this.
Lazur - Stary buk (Comment by: Anarkhya 2010-07-19)
... and pure magic of Paul Sandby skill

Lazur - Crossing (Comment by: Frogg 2010-07-19)
I'm speechless when i see this picture. It's like watching a painting on a computer. A picture who got the same attention as if it was paint.
Lazur - Stary buk (Comment by: Frogg 2010-07-19)
I would say this picture is simply an example of pure magic of Lazur skill
This has some strange details. One of them being another compo picture

I wouldn't say 100% pixel perfection, just for the sake of the term, some areas are clearly blurried thus making the image a hybrid piece somewhere between pure pixel art and digital art.

I'd love to know what programs have been used, I guess it was made with brilliance...

I'm not sure to get your point... Please, can you link me to one of your piece that shows the same "dithertexturing" style?
Slime - (R)ebels (Comment by: bracket 2010-07-18)
it's called innovating dithering.. it roks. i've always used the same old thing, except on the background of Marvin..

Picasso doesn't contributed anything to demoscene? Man, how wrong you are, Demoscene came from Picasso. In fact, demoscene is continuing the philosophics embraced by the artist, after all, Picasso always failed at rotating cubes. )

What I found interesting is the letters texturing visible at zoomX2. Although I don't know if this process served an aesthetical purpose... Odd anyway.
Mermaid - Sailor (Comment by: Anarkhya 2010-07-17)
The funny thing in that serie of what I'd call "mousedrawn pixel sketches" by Mermaid is that I have never seen this technic applied by someone else.
Mermaid - Beast 2 (Comment by: Anarkhya 2010-07-17)
