Old Hag Syndrome is a phenomenon associated with sleep paralysis. For a period of time after waking, sufferers will find themselves unable to move or speak and will report seeing an old woman. She appears in various incarnations and is usually accompanied by an overwhelming presence of evil.

Accounts of these visitations date back centuries, across many cultures, and (as documented in books, on websites and Internet forums) continue to occur in modern times. To this day, visitations of Old Hag remain unexplained.
